After Graduation

It's the day after my graduation 
and there is nothing I can say
to show it truly

I've finished my 12 years of school
I've taken the last of tests
I've waited in line

I've walked across the room
listened to speeches
then get my name called
walking this time, across the stage
to get my diploma
and shake the hands of our administration 
We move our tassels and throw our caps

We walk back 
and the teachers gather on the sides
with smiles and claps
I look at those I had with a wide smile

My parents find me
and can't say enough of congrats 
and I'm proud of you.
